The XA Files: Revolog Kolor Road Trip

I finally broke down and used a roll of Revolog Kolor film I’ve had in my stash for too long. I shot it in the Olympus XA 2.

I have to say I’m not really wild about the XA 2. At least I haven’t been too excited about the results I’ve been getting with it. The photos are dark and grainy and kind of yucky. (See The XA Files: Minneapolis and The XA Files: Northeast Minneapolis ‘Edges’.) I was expecting photos from the XA 2 to look more like photos from the Lomo LC-A.

The XA 2 didn’t do the Revolog Kolor film justice. I’m planning on shooting another roll of Kolor with a different camera. I really like the look of it!

Anyway, on to the photos!

The roll started in Washington, DC, and Arlington, VA. I took a few photos during our drive from Arlington to my parents’ house in Dayton, OH. We stopped there for a few days on the way to the Twin Cities. Finally the roll ends at Gerten’s, an unbelievably cool garden center near our house in South St. Paul.

The entire roll is on Flickr in the Roll 18 album. It’s part of my 2014 52-Rolls Project, which is humming right along!
