I spent a day wandering around Stillwater, Minnesota, last fall. It’s a cute little town on the St. Croix River not far from the Twin Cities.
Stillwater is one of the oldest towns in Minnesota. It was incorporated as a city in 1854, and at that time it was the largest town in the state! The lumber industry is what put Stillwater on the map. Nowadays it’s a tourist destination.
The Stillwater Lift Bridge is a vertical-lift bridge that crosses the St. Croix River and connects Stillwater to Wisconsin. There’s another lift bridge in Duluth. More on that one soon.
Here are a few more photos from the day.
When I got the film developed I realized that Stillwater has a gazillion power lines!
