Back in May I went to Art-A-Whirl in Northeast Minneapolis. It’s the largest open studio tour in the country. Two days is not enough time to see all the artists, hear all the music, and eat all the food! We’re talking artwork in more than 60 locations across the Minneapolis area. Before the doors opened at one of the larger studio buildings, I walked around the block and photographed what I considered to be the edges — old buildings and warehouses that are empty, abandoned, or undergoing renovation and repurposing, like many of the artist studio spaces.
I’d like to spend more time wandering around this part of the city. There’s so much to photograph!
